Dear Friends,

Greeting from IAP Delhi !

It gives me immense pleasure to communicate with you, through our Website of IAP Delhi.

You may all be aware  that IAP Delhi is celebrating its ‘Golden Jubilee’, this year, 2011 . We would like to celebrate this special year in a special way.

The monthly clinical  meetings have been restructured and this has shown  good response in attendance.
We plan a one day conference on 28th August and a gala socio-cultural evening with spouses, later in the year, to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the Academy. Apart from these, IAP Delhi will collaborate  in many others academic programs.

In this Golden Jubilee Year, we plan to roll out some community programs under IAP Delhi, which will further enhance its image and presence in the city of Delhi.

In this special year, the IAP Delhi, is planning to reach out to the community through THE CHILD. The slogan coined for the year is ‘Healthy Living, Healthy Child, Healthier Nation’.

We are planning to initiate a Child Friendly School Initiative (CFSI) under the IAP Action Plan 2011, through which our teams will actively reach out to children in schools to initiate healthy habits of food, physical activity, an anti–tobacco campaign and good life style management. Simultaneously, the CFSI will also ensure that the schools under their purview make concerted efforts to lighten the school bag, provide adequate classroom and playground space, to ensure safe transport for students, to provide clean and safe toilet facilities, especially for girl students and to provide healthy and nutritious food in the school cafeterias.

With the support of IAP- PALS group ,we also plan to provide ‘Basic Life Support’ (BLS) training to  school staff and senior students and to other people in the community, desirous of learning basic life saving measures.

The CFSI activity is planned to continue over the next 3 years or more, and I request each and every member of IAP Delhi to enroll and participate in this activity.

Your kind support and able patronage will strengthen our endeavor to effectively touch the lives of our young citizens in schools and help achieve our mission of developing a healthier INDIA through a healthy CHILD.

Warmly

Dr A.S. Vasudev
