Subj:   I.A.P.Delhi Awards 2007 – submission of Award papers by IAP
            Delhi members fulfilling criteria laid down in IAP Delhi “Award Rules”

Dear Member,
                  As usual, the Scientific papers selected for the Following I.A.P. Delhi Awards (2007), will be presented at the Annual Conference of I.A.P. Delhi, to be held on 23rd Dec. 2007. Members fulfilling the criteria laid down in the attached IAP Delhi “Award Rules” may submit Four sets of papers typed in double space, single side, according to the instructions given in ‘Indian Pediatrics' with a certificate from Head of Deptt. work has been conducted by the candidate and that it has not been presented or published elsewhere earlier.

Last date for submission of papers is 15th October, 2007. No further extension will be feasible due to time constraint.

          1.       Dr. P.N.Taneja Award (General Pediatrics)
          2.       Dr. Satya Gupta Award (Social Pediatrics)
          3.       Dr. Sarla Vaishnava Award (Metabolic Diseases)

AWARD RULES

There will be Three Awards, namely
          a) Dr.P.N.Taneja Award (General Pediatrics)
          b) Dr. Satya Gupta Award (Social Pediatrics)
          c) Dr. Sarla Vaishnava Award (Renal and Metabolic diseases)
     1.       It is open to a regular member of the Academy( I.A.P.Delhi State Branch)
     2.       Contestants should not be of more than 35 years of age as on 31st Dec of the                year in question.
     3.       Only that work shall be allowed to be presented, which the candidate has done in                one of the Institution base in Union Territory of Delhi.
     4.       In case the candidate is working in any of the institution, the paper should be                accompanied by a certificate from the Head of the Department/Institution that the                work has been conducted by the candidate and that it has not been presented or                published elsewhere earlier.
     5.       All the papers submitted will be judged by a Committee of Experts and 75% marks                allotted. Up to 4 papers will be selected from each category and presented,                where a panel of judges will judge the papers only on presentation. 25% marks                will be allotted and for awarding the best paper in a given category, the total of                both marks shall be considered.
     6.       Papers should be ethically acceptable.
     7.       Only one award will be given in each Award. The value of each Award is:
          •        Dr.P.N.Taneja Award Rs.1000/- + Merit Certificate.
          •        Dr. Satya Gupta Award Rs.1000/- + Merit Certificate.
          •        Dr. Sarla Vaishnava Award Rs.1000/- + Merit Certificate.

     8.       Papers must be submitted by 15th of October of the year in question.
     9.       Four sets of papers shall be submitted typed in double space, single side,
               according to the instructions given in ‘Indian Pediatrics'
     10.     At least 50% of pre-judgement marks must be got to qualify for the presentation
               in the Annual Conference.
     11.     Time allotted for each paper shall be 10+5 minutes.
     12      For the papers to be considered for the Award, the candidate must present the
               paper himself/herself.
     14.     Opinion of Judges and Executive shall be final and binding. No
               correspondence will be entertained regarding this.
